DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française)

The DELF is an official, lifelong certification of French language proficiency for non-native speakers, issued by the French Ministry of Education. It covers beginner to intermediate levels (A1 to B2) based on the CEFR framework, assessing listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

A1, A2, B1, B2 — you choose one level to take.

Learners who want a permanent certificate of their level (e.g., for CVs, job applications, university admissions).

Four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking (all mandatory).

A1/A2: ~1.5–2 hours; B1/B2 longer (varies by level).

Each section is up to 25 points, total of 100. Need 5/25 each and ≥ 50/100 overall to pass.

Lifetime — once you pass, your diploma doesn’t expire.
